Congratulations to our new officers!

I would like to extend a thank you to the old officers who resigned. We couldn’t have gotten this far without Jessica and Andrew, so we will certainly miss you.

I hope everyone will give a warm welcome to Joseph Y., who is taking over as vice president for the rest of the semester; Morgan D., who will be the new treasurer; and Austin C., who is the new event coordinator. I am sure they will serve the club well in the remaining amount of time this semester.

Hey guys, don’t forget about our anime nights this year! We have finally started our second round of series, which include Tenchi Universe and Fate/Stay-Night. They’re both excellent shows so please do stop by and see!

Next week (the 21st), we’ve been moved to McCool 109, so if you want to join us, please go there. After that, we’ll always be in McCool 111, as we have been.

Our AWA trip is fast approaching!

The MSU Anime Club will be attending Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) on September 20. Pre-registration badges have been ordered, but those of you who would still like to join us may go and get a badge at the door.

This will be our second year attending AWA, one of the main conventions in the southeast. We currently have a group of nearly 30 people going, so it’s going to be big! Several are cosplaying, including a rather large group as Gurren Lagann characters, so we’ll definitely get some pictures up after the event!

Those of you who have bought badges, please be sure to pay for them and for the gas pool ASAP.

Don’t forget, tomorrow is our welcome party. We’ll be serving food and drink to paid members, though anyone is welcome to attend the anime viewing and meeting portions of the party.

The McCool lobby will be used to serve our food, followed by the anime viewing in McCool 100, the auditorium. Please drop by and welcome all our members back for the year, as well as to their new meeting location!

Remember, last day to sign up for AWA is also tomorrow, so if you’re wanting to, better let us know! You can still pay later, but the event is fast approaching. Our club-sponsored AWA trip will be on Saturday, September 20.

Anime nights will be held again this year! This time, we’ll be in a classroom in McCool, room 111.

Please come to our first one on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. It will last until about 10:00, as we will be watching four episodes of two different anime.

What anime? We’re not sure yet! That’s all entirely up to you, so make sure to post what you want to see in the forums!

Hey guys, don’t forget our first official meeting is next Thursday, August 21st. It’ll be at 7:00 and in the Union, room 325.

Yes, we got the room with the tables, for those who were there to see it last year. And there will be enough chairs–we just have to give the people an estimate of who is coming and they set them up for us.

We’d like for everyone to try to wear their t-shirts this day to advertise. We’ll be putting up new flyers as soon as they are printed with the new meeting locations and times, too.

Just letting everyone know that an unofficial meeting has been put together for Thursday, August 14th. It’s just for you all to watch anime and hang out and catch up or meet new people, depending on who you are. The, well, non-meeting will begin at 6:00 in the evening in Griffis 307C, so be sure to show up no matter if you’re a new or old member!

Regular meetings will begin the following Thursday at 7:00 in the Union, room 325, so be sure to show up to this as well. I regret that I won’t be able to greet you all at the pre-meeting, but I’m looking forward to seeing you all and I’m sure everyone else is as well!

I’ve added several different pages, widgets, and plug-ins in an attempt to make sure everyone remains well-informed about the club.

The events calendar will be updated with the events planned each month, including meetings, anime nights, group meals, activities, and whatever else seems important. I may consider birthdays of members (or those that register can add their own) if you’d like.

The image gallery currently was just placed up as a test, but it does work and can be fixed up much nicer. I just put in a bunch of random images, but once our secretary has internet access, I should be forcing him to put things up.

Meeting information is on a separate page, but I’ve placed it in the announcements so that new members may know of the time. New members, do sign up on the forums and introduce yourselves! We live there and will certainly be happy to see you.

I’ve updated the scheme on this page a bit thanks to some user input. It’s more anime-ish and I figured out how to at least make the red parts be textured.

Those who would like to write articles, please let me know and I’ll add you with write permissions. I want to add anything you think should go here–reviews, convention information, game speculation, etc.

Also added is a user information profile box, which people can access when you write articles. The information is up to you, though, since you’re not required to fill out more than your username, email, and password. If you’d like an avatar, sign up on Gravatar with the same email address there.

I’m currently working on adding an onsite chat room as well, so please give me time.
